Gold/Purple Wedding/Evening Gown from Mskisi

Dresses inspire daydreams.  We talk about why we buy dresses by citing logical reasons:  ” I look good in 3/4 sleeves and boatneck necklines, and I think the A-line shape would be flattering,”  we say.   The truth, though, is something so personal we wouldn’t tell our sister, or our best friend.

“I imagine sliding down the bannister into the arms of my long-lost lover,” we don’t say.  “The skirt would billow behind me and then get tangled attractively in our legs as we embraced, passionately, tearfully. The shoulder straps would slide down my arm to reveal my graceful neck, and my lover would know that I was the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen.”

Frowning Fashions, then, is a disrobing of the truth.  It’s the psychology behind the dream in the dress.  It’s the exposure of the personal myth; it’s too intense and provactive to bring up in polite conversation.

Let’s be impolite together.
